“12 up for Wyddn”…
Today’s game saw both teams searching for their first win of the season. The Wyddn eager to get their season up and running.
The visitors frustrated Wyddn as chances went begging and it remained goalless for the first half hour. Persistence finally paid off and the deadlock was broken with George Gill getting on the end of a trademark Sean Barclay cross. Sean Barclay then soon added a second with a nice finish. The game was halted as Tom Jones and the visitors skipper exchanged fists, both receiving red cards. The madness calmed and George Gill quickly added a third just before the half time whistle.
The second half kicked off just how the first ended, more goals for Wyddn, this time Taylor Parsons and a Dom Holt brace, with George Gill getting his hat trick goal. The game arguably became a training session as more goals followed, Matthew Dunne bagging his first of the season, another two from George Gill and Taylor Parsons getting in the act for the second time. Another red card for the visitors resulted in a Wyddn penalty which Dom Holt unfortunately could not convert. A debut goal for Sam Dykes gave Wyddn the 12 up.
The full time whistle could not come quick enough for the visitors. As for Wyddn, the shackles were finally off as they celebrated their first win of the season in spectacular style.
