What a season. What a team. What a club.

Today, Saturday 6th June 2026, Parkwyddn JFC U16s were crowned Salford & District League Champions, completing an incredible League and Cup Double for the 2025/26 season.

The title race could not have been any closer.

Throughout the season, Parkwyddn JFC U16s and Salford Lads & Girls U16s pushed each other all the way. Both teams defeated each other once, and after that, both sides went on remarkable winning runs, winning every remaining league fixture and refusing to give an inch.

After 18 league games, both teams finished level on an incredible 51 points, each recording 17 wins and just 1 defeat all season.

The championship therefore came down to a winner-takes-all playoff final.

And what a final it was.

In a game that perfectly reflected the quality, determination and spirit shown by both teams throughout the season, Parkwyddn JFC U16s emerged victorious with a thrilling 4-3 win over Salford Lads & Girls to secure the league title.

The victory comes just one week after the boys lifted the cup, meaning they now proudly hold both major honours and can officially call themselves:

This achievement is the result of countless hours of hard work, commitment, teamwork and dedication from every player, coach and volunteer involved with the squad.

To go toe-to-toe with an outstanding Salford Lads & Girls side all season long and then deliver when it mattered most is something every member of this team should be immensely proud of.
